Highly Selective Dual-Mode Microstrip Bandpass Filters Using Triangular Patch Resonators

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2017
In this paper, highly selective dual-mode microstrip bandpass filters are proposed using horizontal and vertical slots formed on the surface of a triangular patch.

Limits on the accuracy of isoelectronic gravity measurements at short separation due to patch potentials

open access: yes, 2013
In force sensing experiments intended to measure non-Newtonian gravitational signals electrostatic patch potentials can give rise to spurious forces, torques, and noise.

Sickle Cell Disease Is an Inherent Risk for Asthma in a Sibling Comparison Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Sickle cell disease (SCD) and asthma share a complex relationship. Although estimates vary, asthma prevalence in children with SCD is believed to be comparable to or higher than the general population. Determining whether SCD confers an increased risk for asthma remains challenging due to overlapping symptoms and the ...

Polygonal patches of high order continuity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A polygonal patch is defined to fill an n-sided hole within a rectangular Ck patch framework. First a reparameterization of the surface around the hole is constructed, that is defined outside a regular polygon.

On a slender dry patch in a liquid film draining under gravity down an inclined plane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper two similarity solutions describing a steady, slender, symmetric dry patch in an infinitely wide liquid film draining under gravity down an inclined plane are obtained.

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.
