Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

COMPARATIVE ANALYSES FOR RCS OF 10 GHz PATCH ANTENNA USING SHORTED STUBS METAMATERIAL ABSORBER [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2018
In this research work, a novel approach for the in-band reduction of Radar Cross Section (RCS) of rectangular patch antenna has been proposed. An ultrathin Metamaterial Absorber (MMA) consists of shorted stubs and rectangular bars has been loaded around ...

A COMPOSITION PATCH ANTENNA

open access: yesRadio physics and radio astronomy
Subject and Purpose. The paper presents results of numerical simulation of a composition patch antenna with a complex form factor. The design combines two structures, specifically, a disc and an annular resonator. The annular resonator is fed via a coplanar structure that involves cut-ins of different geometries.

Investigation of the equivalent circuit parameters and design of a dual polarised dual frequency aperture coupled microstrip antenna

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a simplified approach to the design of a single feed dual polarised, dual frequency (1.9 and 2.4 GHz) aperture coupled microstrip antenna. Using simulation and practical investigation, the coupling between the microstrip feed line and

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Design, Simulation, and Optimization of an Irregularly Shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna for Air-to-Ground Communications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2017
In this study an irregularly shaped microstrip patch antenna was designed, simulated, and optimized for air-to-ground communication (ATG) applications. The process started with the design of a rectangular patch antenna with the traditional transmission ...

An adaptive microstrip patch antenna for use in portable transceivers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This paper describes an adaptive frequency tunable microstrip patch antenna. The introduction of an adaptive feedback loop enables the patch antenna to optimise the antenna-feed impedance match.

Air Pollution and the Risk and Progression of Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Air pollution has been linked to several neurological conditions, including stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. Evidence regarding its association with multiple sclerosis (MS) remains conflicting, limited by small sample sizes. Methods PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane controlled register of trials (CENTRAL) were searched on ...
