Patched as a new target for adrenocortical carcinoma treatment

open access: yes, 2018
Nous avons récemment démontré que le récepteur du morphogène Hedgehog, Patched, qui est exprimé dans de nombreux cancers, est un transporteur de multiples drogues qui contribue à la résistance des cellules cancéreuses à la chimiothérapie.

Numerical estimation of stress intensity factors in patched cracked plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The fatigue and fracture performance of a cracked plate can be substantially improved, by providing patches as reinforcements. The effectivenessof the patches is related to the reduction they cause in the stress intensity factor (SIF) of the crack.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Genetic Activation of Hedgehog Signaling Unbalances the Rate of Neural Stem Cell Renewal by Increasing Symmetric Divisions

open access: yesStem Cell Reports, 2014
In the adult brain, self-renewal is essential for the persistence of neural stem cells (NSCs) throughout life, but its regulation is still poorly understood. One NSC can give birth to two NSCs or one NSC and one transient progenitor. A correct balance is

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Cell Division Mode Change Mediates the Regulation of Cerebellar Granule Neurogenesis Controlled by the Sonic Hedgehog Signaling

open access: yesStem Cell Reports, 2015
Symmetric and asymmetric divisions are important for self-renewal and differentiation of stem cells during neurogenesis. Although cerebellar granule neurogenesis is controlled by sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling, whether and how this process is mediated by

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Requirement of Smurf-mediated endocytosis of Patched1 in sonic hedgehog signal reception

open access: yeseLife, 2014
Cell surface reception of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) must ensure that the graded morphogenic signal is interpreted accordingly in neighboring cells to specify tissue patterns during development.
