On the topology of the inverse limit of a branched covering over a Riemann surface [PDF]
We introduce the Plaque Topology on the inverse limit of a branched covering self-map of a Riemann surface of a finite degree greater than one. We present the notions of regular and irregular points in the setting of this Plaque Inverse Limit and study ...

Symmetric and asymmetric divisions are important for self-renewal and differentiation of stem cells during neurogenesis. Although cerebellar granule neurogenesis is controlled by sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling, whether and how this process is mediated by

Impact assessment for vulnerabilities in open-source software libraries
Software applications integrate more and more open-source software (OSS) to benefit from code reuse. As a drawback, each vulnerability discovered in bundled OSS potentially affects the application.

NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Overlapped conic simulation of three-body trajectories [PDF]
Trajectory computation technique for three-body motion is based on analytical derivation and empirical validation of pseudostate theory. Application of technique yields ''overlapped conic'' trajectories with error magnitudes only 20 percent as great as ...

Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Design of Flyby Trajectories with Powered Gravity and Aerogravity Assist Maneuvers
In this paper, we investigate flyby trajectories combining powered gravity assist (PGA) with aerogravity assist (AGA) in the planar elliptic restricted three-body problem (PERTBP). The patched flyby trajectory is divided into three portions: the PGA, AGA

Requirement of Smurf-mediated endocytosis of Patched1 in sonic hedgehog signal reception
Cell surface reception of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) must ensure that the graded morphogenic signal is interpreted accordingly in neighboring cells to specify tissue patterns during development.
