Finite-element modelling of mechanobiological factors influencing sesamoid tissue morphology in the patellar tendon of an ostrich [PDF]
The appearance and shape of sesamoid bones within a tendon or ligament wrapping around a joint are understood to be influenced by both genetic and epigenetic factors.

An anisotropic hydrogel (AHs) is prepared in this study. The strength of AHs can reach up to 33.14 ± 2.05 MPa, and it exhibits unique defect‐insensitive characteristics. Cracks can only deflect along the fiber alignment direction, demonstrating an interesting self‐protection function.

Traumatic Separation of Bipartite Patella Underlying Gout [PDF]
Gouty arthritis is a common crystal arthropathy, but gout tophus in the bipartite patella is a rare condition. This report presented a traumatic separation of bipartite patellar fragment caused by mild trauma in a patient with comorbid gout.

Finite-volume effects in $(g-2)^{\text{HVP,LO}}_\mu$
An analytic expression is derived for the leading finite-volume effects arising in lattice QCD calculations of the hadronic-vacuum-polarization contribution to the muon's magnetic moment, $a_\mu^{\text{HVP,LO}} \equiv (g-2)_\mu^{\text{HVP,LO}}/2$.

Practical guidelines for the treatment of patellar fractures in adults
The role of the patella is paramount in the transmission of the quadriceps muscle forces, the increase of the lever arm, the distribution of the forces on the trochlea and the centring of the extensor apparatus.

RAB23 regulates musculoskeletal development and patterning
RAB23 is a small GTPase which functions at the plasma membrane to regulate growth factor signaling. Mutations in RAB23 cause Carpenter syndrome, a condition that affects normal organogenesis and patterning. In this study, we investigate the role of RAB23

ABSTRACT Genitopatellar syndrome (GPS) and Say‐Barber‐Biesecker‐Young‐Simpson Syndrome (SBBYSS) are clinically distinct neurodevelopmental disorders caused by monoallelic pathogenic variants in KAT6B. In some cases, GPS and SBBYSS features can overlap, determining an intermediate phenotype.
