Verification of Pathotyping by Quasispecies Model

2009
Discrimination using genetic diversity provides a significant support in genetic research and applications. Mostly, DNA markers indicate a process of determining the genotype presented at specific locations along the DNA molecule. Some developed DNA marker methods are RFLP, RAPD, AP-PCR, DAF, and AFLP. For these systems, enzymes play an important role.

Rapid pathotyping of Newcastle Disease Virus by pyrosequencing

Journal of Virological Methods, 2013
Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) is the only member of serotype 1 avian paramyxoviruses (APMV-1) that causes respiratory and neurological disease in chickens and other species of birds and can cause severe economic losses in the poultry sector. Due to the relevant variability of the genome and the pathogenicity of NDV isolates, their detection in a ...

Emergence of a Urogenital Pathotype of Neisseria meningitidis

Trends in Microbiology, 2017
Neisseria meningitidis is the causative agent of transmissible sepsis and meningitis in humans. A urogenital pathotype of N. meningitidis as the causative agent of transmissible urethritis in the USA has been recently characterised. This pathotype belongs to clonal complex 11 and has lost capsule production but gained anaerobic growth.

Pathotype-specificity in potato cyst nematodes, a reconsideration

Euphytica, 1990
Within the two potato cyst nematode (PCN) species, Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida, eight pathotypes are presently discerned by seven differential Solanum clones, whereby resistance is defined as a Pf/Pi ratio

The gene Cr811 is present exclusively in pathotype 5 and new emerged pathotypes of the clubroot pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae

European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2016
This study was conducted with the objective of finding genetic marker(s) to differentiate pathotypes of the clubroot pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae. Ideally, such markers should be used as a diagnostic tool to identify or predict certain pathotypes. By using PCR with gene-specific primers, 117 non-housekeeping P.

QTL for Resistance to Globodera rostochiensis Pathotype Ro2 and G. pallida Pathotype Pa2/3 in Autotetraploid Potato

American Journal of Potato Research, 2019
The golden and white potato cyst nematodes (Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida, respectively) are devastating quarantine pests of potatoes. The most widely distributed pathotype of the golden nematode, Ro1, is well controlled by the H1 resistance gene. A pathotype that overcomes H1, Ro2, has been detected on several farms in New York State.

In Vivo Models for Pathotyping and Vaccine Efficacy for Swine Influenza

2014
Swine influenza is a disease of the respiratory tract caused by influenza A virus (IAV). Experimental inoculation of pigs involves either aerosolization and inhalation of virus or the direct introduction of virus into the upper or lower respiratory tract.

Studies on the Australian Pathotype of Heterodera avenae1

EPPO Bulletin, 1982
Australian studies on populations of Heterodera avenae have been conducted in Victoria, Western Australia. South Australia, and New South Wales. Only one pathotype has been identified so far, and it is distinct from those recorded elsewhere. Few recognised sources of resistance in barley and oats are useable in Australian breeding programmes. The first
