Wheat leaf rust races/pathotypes in the Czech Republic in 1999-2000
In 1999-2000 virulence of the wheat leaf rust population was studied on Thatcher near isogenic lines (NILs) with Lr1, Lr2a, Lr2b, Lr2c, Lr3, Lr9, Lr10 (only in 2000), Lr11, Lr15, Lr17, Lr19, Lr21, Lr23, Lr24, Lr26 and Lr28.

This study shows the protective effects of potential probiotic strain of Pediococci strains against diarrheal Escherichia coli strains in Caenorhabditis elegans model system. The E. coli strains resulted in severe morphological and physiological damage to the worm whereas the probiotic interventions were able to reduce these damages.

Emergence and Selection of a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H7N3 Virus
Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) viruses of subtypes H5 and H7 have the ability to spontaneously mutate into highly pathogenic (HPAI) variants, causing high mortality in poultry.

[Inflammatory arthritides pathotypes].
The pathophysiology of the inflammatory arthritides (IA) is complex and the result of interactions between genetic and environmental factors, leading to -in the case of seropositive rheumatoid arthritis-a breach of immune tolerance and subsequent development of joint and systemic manifestations.

Retail meat–derived E. coli frequently harbored multidrug‑resistance phenotypes, diverse virulence determinants, and plasmid‑encoded resistance genes with high conjugative potential. Results indicate meat and poultry as underrecognized reservoirs facilitating dissemination of antimicrobial resistance and pathogenic lineages, with imported products ...

Pathotyping Escherichia coli by Using Miniaturized DNA Microarrays [PDF]
ABSTRACT The detection of virulence determinants harbored by pathogenic Escherichia coli is important for establishing the pathotype responsible for infection. A sensitive and specific miniaturized virulence microarray containing 60 oligonucleotide probes was developed. It detected six E. coli
