Alternating paths and cycles of minimum length
Let \(R\) (red) and \(B\) (blue) be disjoint sets of points in the plane, each containing \(n\) points. An alternating cycle is a cycle graph drawn in the plane with vertex set \(R\cup B\) such that the endpoints of each edge have a different color. An alternating path may also be similarly defined.

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

In the first part of this work we provide a formula for the number of edges of the Hasse diagram of the independent subsets of the h-th power of a path ordered by inclusion. For h=1 such a value is the number of edges of a Fibonacci cube.

This study investigates how tramp elements from increased scrap usage influence phase transformations in low‐alloyed steel. Combining dilatometry and microscopy reveal that tramp elements delay transformations, reduce critical cooling rates and increase hardenability.
