Patient positioning in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery: strategies to prevent injuries and improve outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yesRev Bras Ginecol Obstet
Effective patient positioning is a critical factor influencing surgical outcomes, mainly in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) where precise positioning facilitates optimal access to the surgical field.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

POSITIONING OF IMMOBALE NEUROLOGIC PATIENT

open access: yes, 2016
Posljedice oštecenja središnjeg živcanog sustava uzrokuju gubitak motoricke kontrole, poremecaje svijesti, senzorike, te kognitivnih i perceptivnih funkcija. Bolesnici su posebno u ranoj fazi lijecenja i oporavka nepokretni i terapijski pristup zahtijeva

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Comparative impact of supine vs prone positioning on dose distribution, acute toxicity, and setup error in postoperative radiotherapy for cervical cancer: a multidimensional propensity-matched cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundPostoperative radiotherapy is standard for high-risk cervical cancer, but acute toxicities—particularly gastrointestinal and hematologic—remain clinically relevant.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Ramped versus sniffing position for videolaryngoscopy-guided tracheal intubation in adult patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis with trial sequential analysis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Anaesthesia
Background and Aims: The sniffing position is required for direct laryngoscopy to align the oropharyngeal-laryngeal axis in the line of sight. However, videolaryngoscope (VL)-guided intubation may not need a sniffing position. This meta-analysis compared

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
