Automated Recognition of Sequential Patterns in Captured Motion Streams

2010
Motion capture data has been frequently used in computer animation and video games. Motions are often captured in a continuous manner such that a motion contains multiple patterns joined sequentially without obvious breakpoints between them. It is challenging to learn the captured motions as it requires both segmentation and recognition. In this paper,

Automated Loaded Transmission-Line Testing Using Pattern Recognition Techniques

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1975
A pattern recognition approach to the automatic testing of loaded transmission lines is investigated. The pattern recognition technique selected allows automatic testing of a loaded line requiring, as data, only the magnitude of the input impedance of the line over the frequencies of interest.

Auditing as Pattern Recognition: Automated Analysis of Documentary Procedures

SSRN Electronic Journal, 1991
Most information systems analysis techniques focus on data: storage, processing and communication. While these aspects are important, there is a further level of analysis -- for the most part ignored -- that is potentially even more important from the organizational standpoint. This has to do with how organizational commitments are formed and executed.

Significance of visual limitations in automated pattern recognition applications

Pattern Recognition Letters, 1984
Man-machine interaction is critical for pattern recognition; say for automatic testing or medical diagnosis. Effective interface development requires quantitative limitations of the human visual system. A comprehensive effort to apply the theory of fuzzy sets to this system problem is outlined and illustrated.

The Automated Differential; Pattern Recognition Systems, Precision, and the Spun Smear

1981
Utilizing normal patient blood samples, two automated differential pattern recognition systems, the ADC-500 and the Hematrak 360, were compared in a duplicate study with the manual eye method, using spun and wedge smear preparations. The study showed a superior precision for the 500-cell differential, but occasional data points with spun smears were ...
