RESUMO: Na década de 60, em vários locais do país, foram instalados pequenos talhões experimentais de espécies florestais nativas e exóticas, entre elas Paubrasilia echinata, com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento das mesmas em condições de plantios homogêneos, sendo que anos depois grande número dessas parcelas ficou sem manutenção e foi abandonada.
