Pauli Decomposition over Commuting Subsets: Applications in Gate Synthesis, State Preparation, and Quantum Simulations

open access: yes, 2016
A key task in quantum computation is the application of a sequence of gates implementing a specific unitary operation. However, the decomposition of an arbitrary unitary operation into simpler quantum gates is a nontrivial problem. Here we propose a general and robust protocol to decompose any target unitary into a sequence of Pauli rotations.

Exploring the Polymorphism of Drostanolone Propionate

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
2α-Methyl-4,5α-dihydrotestosterone 17β-propionate, known as drostanolone propionate or masteron, is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone.

Behavioural Diversity of Fishes: Concepts, Drivers and Its Role in Conservation and Management

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 27, Issue 6, Page 1245-1268, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Human activity has altered nearly all ecosystems on Earth, contributing to substantial biodiversity loss across taxonomic, genetic and functional dimensions, from the intraspecific to the ecosystem scale. Yet some components of biodiversity remain hidden or underappreciated, including behavioural diversity.

On the constant depth implementation of Pauli exponentials

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information
We decompose, under the very restrictive linear nearest-neighbour connectivity, Z ⊗n exponentials of arbitrary length into circuits of constant depth using $${\mathcal{O}}(n)$$ O ( n ) ancillae and two-body XX and ZZ interactions. Consequently, a similar

Theoretical Framework for Predicting Dynamic Covalent Exchange Based on Proton Affinities and Proton‐Transfer Assistance

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 40, 27 October 2026.
Proton‑transfer catalysis controls acylsemicarbazide dissociation, linking proton affinity to exchange kinetics and enabling predictive design of robust, tunable dynamic covalent networks. ABSTRACT We provide design principles for predicting bond exchange kinetics in acylsemicarbazide (ASC)‐based systems that can be applied to tuning the properties of ...

A Practical Guide to First‐Principles Calculations for Pseudocapacitive Materials: From Electrochemical Experiments to Atomistic Understanding

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 20, 16 October 2026.
Electrochemical experiments reveal what happens, whereas first principles calculations explain why. Emerging computational electrochemistry is bridging these perspectives, enabling quantitative understanding of electrode/electrolyte interfaces and enabling the rational design of next‐generation energy storage materials.

Origin of Transition Metal Binding Preferences in Pyridinic and Pyrrolic Nitrogen‐Doped Graphene Single‐Atom Catalysts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 126, Issue 20, October 15, 2026.
Our quantum chemical analyses of the bonding trends between Period 4 transition metals and pyridinic or pyrrolic nitrogen‐doped graphene supports reveal that the metal–support interaction strengthens from Ti to Ni and subsequently weakens from Ni to Zn, irrespective of the vacancy motif.

Floquet-ADAPT-VQE: A Quantum Algorithm to Simulate Non-Equilibrium Physics in Periodically Driven Systems [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
Periodically driven quantum systems exhibit many fascinating phenomena absent in equilibrium systems, but their simulation is more challenging than that of static systems.

Bond Insertion at Distorted Si(001) Subsurface Atoms

open access: yesInorganics, 2018
Using density functional theory (DFT) methods, we analyze the adsorption of acetylene and ethylene on the Si(001) surface in an unusual bond insertion mode. The insertion takes place at a saturated tetravalent silicon atom and the insight gained can thus

Systematic construction of multi-controlled Pauli gate decompositions with optimal $T$-count

open access: yes
Multi-controlled Pauli gates are typical high-level qubit operations that appear in the quantum circuits of various quantum algorithms. We find multi-controlled Pauli gate decompositions with smaller CNOT-count or $T$-depth while keeping the currently known minimum $T$-count.
