Effect of retinoic acid treatment on the retinoic acid signaling pathway in a human siRNA-based aniridia limbal epithelial cell model, in vitro.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
PurposeIn the present study, we evaluate gene and protein expression levels in an in vitro siRNA-mediated PAX6 knockdown limbal epithelial cell (LEC) model after RA treatment.

The Role of Pax6 in Brain Patterning.

open access: yesThe Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, 2001
Pax6 g ene encodes a transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in various aspects of brain development. Here I review the molecular and cellular mechanisms of how the early brain is patterned, and introduce recent studies on the role of Pax6 in brain patterning, neuronal specification, neuronal migration and axonal extension.

H3 Acetylation-Induced Basal Progenitor Generation and Neocortex Expansion Depends on the Transcription Factor Pax6

open access: yesBiology
Enrichment of basal progenitors (BPs) in the developing neocortex is a central driver of cortical enlargement. The transcription factor Pax6 is known as an essential regulator in generation of BPs.

Molecular mechanism of METTL14-mediated m6A modification regulating microglial function post ischemic stroke

open access: yesBrain Research Bulletin
This study explores the molecular mechanism of METTL14 regulating microglial function post ischemic stroke. A murine model was established by tMCAO. The neurological function was evaluated by mNSS.

PAX6–WNK2 Axis Governs Corneal Epithelial Homeostasis

open access: yesInvestigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science
Limbal stem/progenitor cells (LSCs) continuously proliferate and differentiate to replenish the corneal epithelium and play a vital role in corneal function and normal vision. A previous study revealed that paired box 6 (PAX6) is a master transcription factor involved in determining the fate of corneal epithelial cells (CECs).
