Abstract The reaction 208Pb on 208Pb was studied at bombarding energies of 7.0 and 7.57 MeV/u. One-particle inclusive measurements using a large-area position-sensitive ionisation chamber delivered the kinetic energy, charge and scattering angle of the reaction products.

Surface electronic structure of Pb(001), Pb(110), and Pb(111)
Physical Review B, 1994We report the results of surface electronic-structure calculations for the three low-index faces of elemental Pb. To our knowledge, these are the first calculations for the Pb(110) and Pb(111) surfaces addressing their electronic structure. The underlying bulk crystal is described by a realistic second-nearest-neighbor empirical tight-binding ...

Block storage provides virtual disks that can be mounted by virtual machines (VMs). Although erasure coding (EC) has been widely used in many cloud storage systems for its high efficiency and durability, current EC schemes cannot provide high-performance block storage for the cloud.

Unsupported radiogenic Pb in zircon: a cause of anomalously high Pb-Pb, U-Pb and Th-Pb ages
Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 1984Ion microprobe U-Th-Pb isotopic analyses of zircons from a granodioritic orthogneiss from the Napier Complex, Mount Sones, Enderby Land, Antarctica, have identified an unambiguous example of unsupported radiogenic Pb in a 3,950 Ma-old crystal. At one 40 μm spot on the crystal an unusually large heterogeneity in Pb content was found, the concentration ...

ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 2007
Blind scheduling policies schedule tasks without knowledge of the tasks' remaining processing times. Existing blind policies, such as FCFS, PS, and LAS, have proven useful in network and operating system applications, but each policy has a separate, vastly differing description, leading to separate and distinct implementations.

The Pb–Pb and O–Pb Nuclear Spin Coupling in Ba(Pb,Bi)O3 Oxides
Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism, 2006We report the 17O, 207Pb NMR and 17O–207Pb SEDOR study of superconducting BaPb1-x Bi x O3 (x 0.35) oxides. Inhomogeneous The results points to the formation of microscopically inhomogeneous distribution of the carrier density in metallic phase.

U–Pb, Pb–Pb and Re–Os sulphide geochronology
2016The U–Pb decay scheme is the most widely applied geologically robust geochronometer. Due to its unique attribute of containing two independent decay chains, starting from different parent isotopes and finishing with different daughter isotopes of the same elements, it is possible to cross-correlate the data obtained simultaneously to produce routine ...

A novel lead(II) framework containing Pb–O–Pb and Pb–Cl–Pb helical chains
Inorganic Chemistry Communications, 2008Abstract Under hydrothermal conditions, using 5-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid (HL) and lead(II) chloride, a new 2D lead(II) framework [Pb(L)(μ2-Cl)(H2O)]n can be isolated, in which infinite Pb–O–Pb helical chains can be observed. Interestingly 1 stacks in ABAB… ways, in one layer right-handed Pb–O–Pb and left-handed Pb–Cl–Pb helical chains are ...
