Effect of excess PbO on microstructure and mechanical properties of (Pb0.975Ba0.025)ZrO3 ceramics

Abstract (Pb 0.975 Ba 0.025 )ZrO 3 (PBZ2.5) ceramics were fabricated from their oxide mixture via the solid state reaction method. Excess PbO (1, 3, 5 and 10 wt%) was added together with starting materials to compensate for PbO loss from evaporation during calcination and sintering. The phase structure was analyzed by XRD.

Role of excess PbO on the microstructure and dielectric properties of lead magnesium niobate

Stoichiometric and 2 wt. % excess lead oxide containing lead magnesium niobate (PMN) ceramics have been prepared by partial oxalate route. Dielectric measurements with frequency showed a typical relaxor behavior for stoichiometric PMN, while PMN with excess PbO shows a scatter in the dielectric curves at all temperatures above Tc.

ABSTRACTA series of PZT precursor solutions was prepared which incorporated excess PbO to give the composition Pb1+xZr0.53Ti0.47O3+x, where 0 < × < 0.3. These solutions were spin coated on platinized Si wafers and fired at elevated temperatures up to 750C for 30 mins.

In this work, we studied the effect of excess PbO on crystal structure, microstructure and phase transition of lead titanate (PT). PT was prepared via a mixed oxide method with various PbO levels (0, 1, 3 and 5 wt.%). The raw materials were calcined at 750 oC for 2 h and sintered at 1225 oC for 2 h.

The influences of firing temperatures and excess PbO on the crystal structure and microstructure of (Pb0.25 Sr0.75)TiO3 ceramics

Polycrystalline samples of (Pb0.25Sr0.75)TiO3 (PST75) were prepared by the solid-state reaction method. The effects of firing temperatures and excess PbO on PST75 ceramics were investigated. The PST75 was calcined between 600 and 1000 °C for 3 h and the sintering temperature ranged between 1050 and 1250 °C for 2 h.
