Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Effects of environmental variables on seedling distribution of rare and endangered Dacrydium pierrei

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences, 2017
Because growth environment is affected by climate change, Dacrydium pierrei resources are becoming less and less. Therefore, understanding the effects of environmental variables on seedling-sapling distributions can help gain insight into changes in ...

Static and Dynamic Robust PCA and Matrix Completion: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the IEEE, 2018
Principal component analysis (PCA) is one of the most widely used dimension reduction techniques. Robust PCA (RPCA) refers to the problem of PCA when the data may be corrupted by outliers.

Drug overdose due to malfunction of a patient-controlled analgesia machine -A case report- [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology, 2013
Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) provides excellent pain control and high stability, thereby minimizing the incidence of adverse effects. However, one of our patients experienced respiratory depression and hypotension within 30 minutes of initiation of

ZAP -- Enhanced PCA Sky Subtraction for Integral Field Spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce Zurich Atmosphere Purge (ZAP), an approach to sky subtraction based on principal component analysis (PCA) that we have developed for the Multi Unit Spectrographic Explorer (MUSE) integral field spectrograph.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Principal component analysis of sorghum landraces for yield contributing traits

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2021
Principal component analysis was carried out with experimental material comprising of 30 sorghum land races and observations were recorded on eleven biometrical traits viz., days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, plant height, the number of ...
