ST6GAL1‐mediated aberrant sialylation promotes prostate cancer progression
Abstract Aberrant glycosylation is a universal feature of cancer cells, and cancer‐associated glycans have been detected in virtually every cancer type. A common change in tumour cell glycosylation is an increase in α2,6 sialylation of N‐glycans, a modification driven by the sialyltransferase ST6GAL1.

Heat‐treated steel is widely used in industrial applications due to its high strength and other desirable mechanical qualities. Grinding, which requires a lot of power and is expensive, is typically used to harden machining. In recent times, hard machining has emerged as a viable alternative to grind in select applications.

The effect of hydrogen on the fracture toughness of friction‐stir welded API 5L X70 pipeline steels
Abstract The hydrogen embrittlement (HE) leads to severe steel degradation of mechanical properties. The hydrogen atoms diffuse into the steel and get positioned into reversible and irreversible trap sites. The pipe to transport oil and gas needs to be welded to construct long‐distance pipeline projects; thus, friction‐stir welding (FSW) has proven an ...

Abstract Current biomarkers are inadequate prognostic predictors in localized prostate cancer making treatment decision‐making challenging. Previously, we observed that the combination of more variable telomere length among prostate cancer cells and shorter telomere length in prostate cancer‐associated stromal cells – the telomere biomarker – is ...

The permanent metal joining processes play a vital role in assembling the complex aluminium structures of the aerospace, automotive, marine, and oil industries. The invention of friction stir welding (FSW) redefined the mechanism of metal joining to produce high‐quality welds by eliminating the consumption of electrodes and shielding gases, resulting ...

Friction stir welding is a method used to weld together materials considered challenging by fusion welding. FSW is primarily a solid phase method that has been proven efficient due to its ability to manufacture low‐cost, low‐distortion welds. The quality of weld and stresses can be determined by calculating the amount of heat transferred.

Optimization of Surface Quality and Power Consumption in Machining Hardened AISI 4340 Steel
Hard turning has become an attractive method of machining for most manufacturers in the last few years due to its low cost and superior surface quality compared to grinding. In this experimental study, the machinability of hardened steel under dry machining on a CNC lathe is undertaken to optimize the cutting parameters for minimum surface roughness ...

Optimization of Plasma Arc Cutting Parameters on Machining of Inconel 718 Superalloy
Nickel‐based super composites are widely applied in the industry. These alloys withstand high thermal debility conditions and give better strength to machine parts in aviation, biomechanical, marine, and vehicle commerce. Nickel‐based alloys have high quality, corrosion resistance, and high heat refusal.
