The Effect of Combustion Phase According to the Premixed Ethanol Ratio Based on the Same Total Lower Heating Value on the Formation and Oxidation of Exhaust Emissions in a Reactivity-Controlled Compression Ignition Engine

open access: yesFire
A compression ignition engine generates power by using the auto-ignition characteristics of fuel injected into the cylinder. Although it has high fuel efficiency, it discharges a lot of exhaust emissions such as NOX and PM.

Machine learning and experimental emission assessment in high temperature air premixed charged compression ignition engines using the Pugh matrix

open access: yesScientific Reports
This research explores the performance, exhaust emissions, and combustion properties of a Premixed Charged Compression Ignition (PCCI) engine using combinations of Andropogon narudus (AN) and Sapota Oil Methyl Ester (SOME) blended as substitute fuels.

PCCI Combustion for Better Emissions in Diesel Engines

Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Premixed charge compression ignition (PCCI) mode of combustion is one of the advanced combustion concepts under low-temperature combustion (LTC) which has been found out in resulting acceptable emission results in internal combustion engines particularly in reducing particle matter and oxides of nitrogen altogether.

Multi-zone modelling of PCCI combustion

International Journal of Vehicle Design, 2011
Early Direct Injection Premixed Charge Compression Ignition (EDI PCCI) combustion is a promising concept for the diesel combustion. Although EDI PCCI assures very low soot and NO xemission levels, the injection is uncoupled from combustion, which narrows down the operating conditions. The main purpose is to analyse the effect of mixing.
