Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Probabilistically checkable proofs (PCP) play an important role in the area of randomized algorithms. Intuitively, such a proof can be checked by a randomized algorithm whose randomness of the read number of bits of the proof is bounded in some way. Acceptance of correct, respectively, rejection of false proofs must happen with very high probability ...

Clusterin regulates β-amyloid toxicity via Dickkopf-1-driven induction of the wnt–PCP–JNK pathway
Although the mechanism of Aβ action in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) has remained elusive, it is known to increase the expression of the antagonist of canonical wnt signalling, Dickkopf-1 (Dkk1), whereas the silencing of Dkk1 blocks Aβ ...

Planar cell polarity genes Frizzled3a, Vangl2, and Scribble are required for spinal commissural axon guidance [PDF]
Background A fundamental feature of early nervous system development is the guidance of axonal projections to their targets in order to assemble neural circuits that control behavior.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Impact of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia on kidney transplant outcome
Backgrounds Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP) remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality in kidney transplant recipients. While the acute phase toxicity in patients with PCP is well-characterized, there is a lack of data on the effects of

TBK1‐Associated Primary Lateral Sclerosis Followed by Right Temporal Variant Frontotemporal Dementia
ABSTRACT We report a 58‐year‐old woman with a novel splice‐site variant in the TANK‐binding kinase 1 (TBK1:c.993–2A>C p.Ala332TyrfsTer39) who sequentially developed primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) followed by right temporal variant frontotemporal dementia (rtvFTD). Neuroimaging demonstrated right anterior temporal atrophy before cognitive symptoms, and
