Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.

Identification and functional characterization of EFNA3 as a dual diagnostic biomarker and immune therapeutic target in rectal cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Chinese Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The Eph/ephrin signaling system has emerged as an important regulator of oncogenic processes, yet its specific involvement in rectal adenocarcinoma (READ) pathogenesis requires further elucidation. This study employed an integrative analytical approach combining computational biology with experimental validation to characterize Eph ...

A Novel CHMP2B Splicing Variant in Atypical Presentation of Familial Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT C‐truncating variants in the charged multivesicular body protein 2B (CHMP2B) gene are a rare cause of frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), previously identified only in Denmark, Belgium, and China. We report a novel CHMP2B splice‐site variant (c.35‐1G>A) associated with familial FTLD in Spain. The cases were two monozygotic male twins who

A Novel C19orf47‐AKT2 Chimeric RNA Generated by Cis‐Splicing of Adjacent Genes Is Associated With Glioblastoma Prognosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Malignant gliomas pose significant therapeutic challenges. This study aimed to identify and characterize a novel chimeric RNA in glioma and assess its clinical and functional significance for precision treatment. Methods The C19orf47‐AKT2 chimeric RNAs were identified through RNA sequencing and validated by polymerase chain reaction.
