[Contribution of nested PCR in the diagnosis of imported malaria in southern Algeria].

Bulletin de la Societe de pathologie exotique (1990), 2017
The nested PCR was used to estimate its inputs in malaria diagnosis and in the performance of the microscope operators involved in the surveillance of malaria in remote areas of South Algeria. For the period 2010 to 2015, 112 patients (93 febrile and 19 asymptomatic) coming from sub-Saharan Africa were tested for malaria in the hospital of Tamanrasset.

Evaluation of a real-time PCR assay for malaria diagnosis in patients from Vietnam and in returned travellers

Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2007
Real-time PCR diagnosis of malaria has advantages over traditional microscopic methods, especially when parasitaemia is low and when dealing with mixed infections. We have developed a new real-time PCR with specific genes in each Plasmodium species present only in one copy to identify the four pathogenic Plasmodium spp. for humans.

Contribution of PCR-based methods to diagnosis and management of imported malaria.

Medecine tropicale : revue du Corps de sante colonial, 2005
Since the first description, in 1990, of the diagnosis of Plasmodium falciparum infection by polymerase-chain-reaction (PCR), the role of this kind of molecular method in laboratory diagnosis of imported malaria is still a topical question. Various molecular assays have been used, the first of which was hybridization using labeled probes in 1984.

[Primary evaluation on the application of nested/multiplex PCR in malaria diagnosis and surveillance].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 2014
To compare the usefulness of Tag-primer nested/multiplex PCR (UT-PCR) method with microscopy in malaria diagnosis and surveillance.400 blood smears and blood samples on filter paper were taken from febrile patients which were initially diagnosed as malaria or suspected malaria during surveillance in mixed endemic areas of Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) and

[Sensitivity, specificity and stability of the Tag-primer nested/multiplex PCR for malaria diagnosis].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 2009
To improve the sensitivity, specificity and stability of the Tag-primer nested/multiplex PCR for malaria diagnosis.Filter paper blood samples were collected from 30 non-malaria fever patients and 20 infectious disease patients (common cold, influenza, typhoid, hepatitis, etc.).

[Studies on diagnosis of falciparum malaria based on amplifying specific SSUrDNA fragment with nested PCR].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 1996
Two pairs of primers specific to small subunit ribosomal DNA of Plasmodium falciparum were designed and the expected SSUrDNA fragment was amplified for detecting P. falciparum infection with double-temperature-nested polymerase chain reaction using DNA prepared by boiling method.
