Comparative Pathogenicity of PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4 in Piglets: Insights Into Clinical, Pathological, and Immunological Features. [PDF]
Porcine circoviruses (PCVs) have been a significant concern in swine health, with PCV2 being a well‐established pathogen. However, the newly discovered PCV3 and PCV4 have emerged, and their impact on piglets remains less understood. Understanding their pathogenicity is crucial for effective porcine health management.

Dynamics of PCV2 and PCV3 in the Serum and Oral Fluids of Pigs After PCV2 Vaccination in a Commercial Farm. [PDF]
Objectives: This study investigated the dynamics of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) and PCV3 on a commercial farm following PCV2 vaccination. Methods: Serum samples from 35 pigs, starting at 3 weeks of age, were collected weekly until 21 weeks of age. Oral fluids from six pens of pigs of the same age were also analyzed.

Chromogenic in situ hybridization technique for detecting porcine circovirus 3 in lung and lymphoid tissues [PDF]
Background and Aim: Porcine circovirus 3 (PCV3) was recently reported in Malaysian commercial pig population in 2020 by conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR), revealing a molecular prevalence of 17.02% in the sampled domestic pig population.

Genotyping of PCV3 based on reassembled viral gene sequences [PDF]
Abstract Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) has been reported in many countries such as USA, China, Korea and many European countries during 2015–2018. The six PCV3 strains named IH, SJ, N5, N10, N13 and N62 were detected out of 220 samples by PCR methods while the prevalence our study was conducted in 2017 to 2018.

Detection of PCV3 in German wild boars [PDF]
Porcine circovirus 3 is a newly described circovirus circulating worldwide. PCV3 may play an etiologic role in different pig diseases. Two different genotypes of PCV3 were described, PCV3a and PCV3b. In order to analyse whether PCV3 is also present in wild boars, animals living in and near Berlin were studied.

Lack of Evidence on the Susceptibility of Ticks and Wild Rodent Species to PCV3 Infection [PDF]
Porcine circovirus 3 (PCV3) is an emerging virus, first detected in 2016 and widespread in the swine industry. Although not considered a primary pathogen, PCV3 is potentially linked to several clinical conditions that threaten swine farming. Wild boars are considered the main reservoir species for PCV3 infection in the wild, but recent detection in roe
