Numerical and Experimental Assessment of Oxygen Distribution in a Perfusion Bioreactor to Mimic the Osteochondral Niche

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oxygen supply is a critical parameter in 3D cell cultivation using bioreactors. Since bioreactor designs often prioritise practical constraints, understanding the oxygen supply dynamics of the media is crucial for achieving either uniform or spatially controlled oxygen delivery.

Indirect RBFN method with scattered points for numerical solution of PDEs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper is concerned with the use of the indirect radial basis function network (RBFN) method in solving partial differential equations (PDEs) with scattered points.

Optimization of 3D‐Printed Structured Packings—Current State and Future Developments

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This paper gives an overview about structured packing development for distillation, surveying heuristic development cycles, computational fluid dynamics simulations, and additive manufacturing techniques. The emerging application of shape optimization to improve packings is emphasized, and its benefits, impact, and limitations are discussed.

A PDES method preserving boundaries on dense disparity map reconstruction

open access: yes, 2008
Over smoothness restricts the application of PDEs in the field of dense disparity map reconstruction, because disparity map reconstruction usually requires preserving discontinuousness in some areas such as the boundaries of objects.

Plasma Desmosine and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Disease

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2019
Background It is recognized that factors beyond aortic size are important in predicting outcome in abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) disease. AAA is characterized by the breakdown of elastin within the aortic tunica media, leading to aortic dilatation and ...

Geometry of PDEs. I: Integral bordism groups in PDEs

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2006
Global solutions of formally integrable and completely integrable systems of partial differential equations are characterized by means of integral bordism groups. Unfortunately, a thorough acquintance with the author's articles, namely with \textit{A. Prástaro} [Acta Appl. Math. 51, 243--302 (1998; Zbl 0924.58103) and Acta Appl. Math.

An Analytical Design Model of a Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Process for Biogas Upgrading

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A steady‐state model was developed for a vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process comprising adsorption, depressurization, and evacuation steps. The resulting analytical plant design model provides the optimal adsorber height required to achieve a target product purity with maximum bed utilization.

Pyridoxine dependent epilepsies: new therapeutical point of view

open access: yesItalian Journal of Pediatrics, 2017
Pyridoxine dependent epilepsies (PDEs) are rare autosomal recessive disorders with onset in neonatal period. Seizures are typically not responsive to conventional antiepileptic drugs, but they cease after parental pyridoxine administration.

High-resolution method for numerically solving PDEs in process engineering

open access: yes, 2008
Abrupt phenomena in modelling real-world systems indicate the\ud importance of investigating systems with deep gradients. However,\ud it is difficult to solve such systems either analytically or\ud numerically.
