Modeling Airborne Influenza in Three Dimensions
Engineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.A novel 3D fluid dynamics model demonstrates how influenza outbreaks spread spatially via “epidemic flow.” Simulations reveal that direct contact is the dominant transmission route over aerosol spread, offering a new tool to inform targeted public health interventions and spatially‐aware risk assessment.

A Mathematical Model for Two‐Phase Flow in Confined Environments: Numerical Solution and Validation

After deriving the mathematical model, we develop the weak form of the system of PDEs using a pedagogical approach to enable its implementation in FEniCS.
