Pu-18-N-butylimide-NMGA-GNP conjugate is effective against hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesIntegrative Medicine Research, 2013
Background: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a new modality in the treatment of cancer. This study thus aims to examine whether the PDT is effective against in vivo hepatocellular carcinoma.

The Effect of 5-Aminolevulinic Acid Photodynamic Therapy in Promoting Pyroptosis of HPV-Infected Cells

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT) is highly effective in the treatment of condyloma acuminata (CA). Previous research has indicated that ALA-PDT could induce cell death by different mechanisms, including apoptosis and autophagy, but ...

Modification‐Selective Inhibition of Succinate Dehydrogenase a Enables Tumor‐Restricted Mitochondrial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work identifies acetylation‐dependent SDHA homeostasis as a determinant of tumor‐specific metabolic vulnerability. Guided by this mechanism, a modification‐selective inhibitor, ZPI‐3, selectively targets non‐acetylated SDHA, achieving tumor‐restricted SDH inhibition and effective bladder cancer control. Differential responses in clinical specimens

Progression-directed therapy in patients with oligoprogressive castration-resistant prostate cancer [PDF]

open access: yesInvestigative and Clinical Urology
Purpose: Oligoprogressive lesions are observed in a subset of patients who progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), while other lesions remain controlled by systemic therapy. This study evaluates the impact of progression-directed therapy

Trial watch: an update of clinical advances in photodynamic therapy and its immunoadjuvant properties for cancer treatment

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2023
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a medical treatment used to target solid tumors, where the administration of a photosensitizing agent and light generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), thus resulting in strong oxidative stress that selectively damages the ...

Hydraulic Pressure‐Programmed Molecular Transport in Tough Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydraulic pressure is introduced as a programmable parameter for regulating molecular transport in tough hydrogel membranes. Reversing the pressure direction accelerates or slows transport, tuning characteristic transport times over a 65‐fold range while achieving molecular separation and controlled delivery.

Supramolecular Degraders: An Emerging Paradigm in Targeted Protein Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dynamic supramolecular assembly reshapes targeted protein degradation by coordinating modular degrader construction, delivery, functional integration, and intracellular assembly or activation across proteasomal, endosomal–lysosomal, and autophagy–lysosomal pathways.

Different effects of single and fractionated light delivery regimes in photodynamic therapy with hypericin on HT-29 cells in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an alternative cancer cure which involves the selective uptake and retention of a photosensitizer in a cancer tissue, followed by irradiation with light of a specific wavelength to kill tumour cells via the production of ...
