Photodynamic Therapy for Basal Cell Carcinoma: The Clinical Context for Future Research Priorities

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an established treatment option for low-risk basal cell carcinoma (BCC). BCC is the most common human cancer and also a convenient cancer in which to study PDT treatment.

On the in-vivo photochemical rate parameters for PDT reactive oxygen species modeling

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2017
Photosensitizer photochemical parameters are crucial data in accurate dosimetry for photodynamic therapy (PDT) based on photochemical modeling. Progress has been made in the last few decades in determining the photochemical properties of commonly used ...

Structural changes of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells during lipid enrichment and after solvent exposure

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
Data are related to Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM) observations of lipid-enriched Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells under different conditions. Firstly, the impact of stress conditions (nitrogen starvation) on the cell wall structure is assessed.

Challenges in clinical PDT

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2011
c t A gathering such as this, the 13th IPA (in association with EPPM and HNODS) meeting, is a timely occasion to celebrate and reflect upon the achievements of the founding fathers of PDT and to look at the challenges ahead. Since its inception, this journal has encouraged the submission of historical papers and has endeavoured to portray, when ...

In Situ Bioorthogonal Synthesis of PROTACs via Dual‐Responsive Cleavage for Synergistic Photo‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioactive self‐delivering SNAP‐TAC platform responds to tumor‐associated cathepsin B and glutathione, enabling in situ bioorthogonal synthesis of a BRD4‐degrading proteolysis‐targeting chimera within the tumor microenvironment. The resulting BRD4 degradation and PD‐L1 downregulation synergize with photodynamic therapy‐induced immunogenic cell death ...
