Continuous deformations of the Grover walk preserving localization

open access: yes, 2012
The three-state Grover walk on a line exhibits the localization effect characterized by a non-vanishing probability of the particle to stay at the origin.

The Accuracy of Subhalo Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
With the ever increasing resolution of N-body simulations, accurate subhalo detection is becoming essential in the study of the formation of structure, the production of merger trees and the seeding of semi-analytic models.

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

GROUND VIBRATION DUE TO BLASTING IN DAM AND HYDROPOWER PROJECTS

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2020
In this study, the safe charge per delay (kg) of explosives and Peak Particle Velocity (PPV, mm/s) are recorded for 140 blast events at various distances which relates to the dam and hydropower projects of Karoun III, Masjed – Soleiman, and Siah – Bisheh

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Many Body Theory of Charge Transfer in Hyperthermal Atomic Scattering

open access: yes, 1992
We use the Newns-Anderson Hamiltonian to describe many-body electronic processes that occur when hyperthermal alkali atoms scatter off metallic surfaces. Following Brako and Newns, we expand the electronic many-body wavefunction in the number of particle-

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Dynamic Influence of Near-Source Seismic Ground Motion on Underground Mine Working Stability Using Time-Frequency Analysis

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Peak particle velocity parameter is very useful in assessing underground mine working stability. Its application is widespread and requires additional analysis of the dominant frequency of the seismic signal.
