An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Peak and valley regulation of distribution network with electric vehicles

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
With the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs), how to make full use of EVs to a peak shaving and valley filling effect on the electrical load, realise the effective interaction between EVs and power grid has become a hot spot of research. However,

Peak Coordinating Bodies And Invasive Alien Species: Is The Whole Worth More Than The Sum Of Its Parts? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The development of regimes to regulate invasive alien species (IAS) has historically progressed in a fragmented and ad hoc manner. To remedy this situation the United States of America and Great Britain have introduced peak coordination bodies to draw ...

Normalized analysis and design of LCC resonant converters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
—A normalization of the LCC voltage-output resonant converter performance characteristics, in terms of the tank gain at resonance and the parallel-to-series-capacitor ratio, is presented. The resulting description is subsequently used for the derivation

Benefit evaluation of the deep peak-regulation market in the northeast china grid

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems, 2019
In the Northeast China Grid (NCG), the percentage of wind power has reached nearly 20% of the total installed generation capacity, which causes increasing demands for deep peak-regulation capacity (DPC) during the operation of power systems. The shortage

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Rethinking Electricity Restructuring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Electric utility restructuring was initiated in the 1990s to remedy the problem of relatively high electricity costs in the Northeast and California. While politicians hoped that reform would allow low-cost electricity to flow to highcost states and that

Origins of Binary Gene Expression in Post-transcriptional Regulation by MicroRNAs

open access: yes, 2012
MicroRNA-mediated regulation of gene expression is characterised by some distinctive features that set it apart from unregulated and transcription factor-regulated gene expression. Recently, a mathematical model has been proposed to describe the dynamics

Economic and safety analysis of unconventional peak regulation on power unit of peak shifting start-stop

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Tthe capacity difference of peak regulation between the power gird and the actual demand has become a serious problem considering the growth in the difference between electricity supply and demand. Therefore, peak regulation of power grid needs to be deeply studied.
