A Deep Peak Regulation Auxiliary Service Bidding Strategy for CHP Units Based on a Risk-Averse Model and District Heating Network Energy Storage

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
With the advance of China’s power system reform, combined heat and power (CHP) units can participate in multi-energy market. In order to maximize CHP profit in a multi-energy market, a bidding strategy for deep peak regulation auxiliary service of a CHP ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

A source-load collaborative stochastic optimization method considering the electricity price uncertainty and industrial load peak regulation compensation benefit

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Energy-intensive industrial load offers substantial capacity and rapid adjustment capabilities, which can be effectively coordinated with deep peak regulation (DPR) methods of thermal power to optimize the peak regulation state of the system.

Perception of the fairness of pricing [PDF]

open access: yes
Regulation by means of price in order to remove excess demand is generally perceived as being unfair. This paper empirically tests different principles of regulation including lotteries, rationing, a moral rule and compensation. We start from the ...

Amplified biochemical oscillations in cellular systems

open access: yes, 2006
We describe a mechanism for pronounced biochemical oscillations, relevant to microscopic systems, such as the intracellular environment. This mechanism operates for reaction schemes which, when modeled using deterministic rate equations, fail to exhibit ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Hierarchical Optimization Strategy for Integrated Water–Wind–Solar System Considering Load Control of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

open access: yesEnergies
For a high proportion of new energy with access to the grid, the typical random volatility of wind power and photovoltaic output greatly increases the peak load of the grid; in addition, the problem of wind and solar abandonment needs to be solved.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Market Failures in Real-Time Metering: A Theoretical Look [PDF]

open access: yes
Restructuring the electricity market may secure efficiencies by moving away from cost-of-service regulation, with typically (but not necessarily) time-invariant prices, and allowing prices to reflect how costs change. Charging "real time" prices requires

Airport economic regulation and capital investment: lessons from the United Kingdom experience [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
ICCSAI´s annual Fact Book is a bianually updated and synthetic reference document on competition in the air transport industry of Europe. Special attention is given to the Italian context, although these data are discussed from an international ...
