Comprehensive peak-shaving solutions for port cranes

2016 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2016
Port facilities have to be organized as microgrids to pursue an efficient electrical utilization based on the four “l”-pillars in the sustainable energy use: levelled, less, local, load (lele-lolo). This paper deals with the special case of STS cranes characterized by high power peaks and a low load factor that require an over-sized electrical network ...

Solute transport in solution conduits exhibiting multi-peaked breakthrough curves

Journal of Hydrology, 2012
Summary Solute transport in karst aquifers is primarily constrained to solution conduits where transport is rapid, turbulent, and relatively unrestrictive. Breakthrough curves generated from tracer tests are typically positively-skewed and may exhibit multiple peaks.

Chromatographic solute identification using peak shape analysis

Journal of Chromatography A, 1976
Abstract Solute identification by retention data alone does not yield a positive identification for two or more solutes with approximately the same retention times. In such cases, two columns with two different stationary phases are needed for solute verification.
