Snoek relaxation peaks in solid solutions of niobium

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1970
Abstract A detailed study has been carried out of the broadening effect of Snoek peaks due to oxygen and nitrogen in niobium. It is shown that the broadening is due to the presence of subsidiary Snoek peaks caused by the stress-induced migration of interstitial atoms associated in pairs and triplets.

Analysis of Peak Effects in the Solutions of a Class of Difference Equations

Automation and Remote Control
We consider a class of well-known high-order trinomial linear difference equations and analyze the non-asymptotic behavior of their solutions under non-zero initial conditions from the unit box. It is shown that, for certain subsets of coefficients in the stability domain, there always exist initial conditions leading to peak, a large deviation of ...

Solutions with multiple peaks for nonlinear elliptic equations

Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Section A Mathematics, 1999
Solutions with peaks near the critical points of Q(x) are constructed for the problemWe establish the existence of 2k −1 positive solutions when Q(x) has k non-degenerate critical points in ...

Solute transport in solution conduits exhibiting multi-peaked breakthrough curves

Journal of Hydrology, 2012
Summary Solute transport in karst aquifers is primarily constrained to solution conduits where transport is rapid, turbulent, and relatively unrestrictive. Breakthrough curves generated from tracer tests are typically positively-skewed and may exhibit multiple peaks.

Multi-peak positive solutions for the fractional Schrödinger–Poisson system

Communications in Contemporary Mathematics, 2018
In this paper, we study the existence of positive multi-peak solutions to the fractional Schrödinger–Poisson system [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text] is a small parameter, [Formula: see text] is a positive function, [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] Under some given conditions which are given in Sec. ??, we prove the existence of
