Effect of interlamellar spacing on the elastoplastic behavior of C70 pearlitic steel: Experimental results and self-consistent modeling [PDF]
The effect of pearlite microstructure characteristics on strength and deformation of C70 pearlitic steel was investigated. Tensile tests under X-ray diffraction coupled with self-consistent model have been used to identify the role of interlamellar spacing on the ferrite plasticity parameters and residual stress induced by plasticity.

Experimental research on the effect of induction reheating on the microstructure and mechanical properties of hot-rolled low-alloy steel plate [PDF]
Electric induction reheating is used to control the temperature of hot-rolled steel products. To investigate the effect of this on microstructure and mechanical properties, hot-rolled low-alloy steel plate was cooled, reheated, and then either quenched ...

Linking Heat Treatment to Plastic Deformation in Pearlitic Steels Through Mesoscale Modeling
Surface wear on rail and wheel steels results from surface deformation during use. This research uses mathematical models to forecast the plastic behavior of pearlitic steels, connected to the microstructure formed during heat treatment. While the cooling rate impacts the steels’ strength, the size of prior austenite grains and blocks does not ...

A robust computational framework is proposed, which is designed to simulate microstructural‐scale plastic deformation and damage in pearlitic steels. The framework is calibrated and validated using experimental data from pearlitic steel rail samples. Subsequently, it is employed to investigate the impact of microstructural parameters, such as cementite
