Electrocatalytic properties of Ti/TiO2 electrodes prepared by the Pechini method

The effects of three synthesis variables on the electrochemical properties of TiO2 prepared by the Pechini method are described. To minimize the number of experiments, a factorial design was used. It was shown that, in the presence of nitrobenzene, the temperature and the number of layers were the most important variables.

Nickel-oxide-yitria-stabilized zirconia (NiO-YSZ) powder mixtures were prepared using a Pechini-type sol-gel route. Metal chlorides/nitrates and citric or ascorbic acid were used to prepare the metal-carboxylic acid complexes. Their subsequent polyesterification with ethylene glycol at moderate temperatures yielded a homogeneous polymer resin.
