Nano‐ and Micro‐Sized Solid Materials Used as Antiviral Agents
Due to the rise of viral infections in humans and possible viral outbreaks, the use of nano‐ or micro‐sized materials as antiviral agents is rapidly increasing. This review explores their antiviral properties against RNA and DNA viruses, either as a prevention or a treatment tool, by delving into their mechanisms of action and how to properly assess ...

Large-scale synthesis of YSZ nanopowder by Pechini method
Yttria-stabilized zirconia nanopowders were synthesized on a relatively large scale using Pechini method. In the present paper, nearly spherical yttria-stabilized zirconia nanopowders with tetragonal structure were synthesized by Pechini process from zirconium oxynitrate hexahydrate, yttrium nitrate, citric acid and ethylene glycol.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Effect of synthetic route on sintering behaviour, phase purity and conductivity of Sr- and Mg-doped LaGaO3 perovskites [PDF]
La1-xSrxGa1-yMgyO3-d (LSGM) powders containing different amounts of Sr2+ and Mg2+ were prepared from precursors synthesised by either Pechini or citrate sol-gel method and by subsequent calcination at 1400 °C.

In this research we demonstrated that the energy density of supercapacitors can be enhanced at about 50% by generating extra charge through the use of a photosensitive cell coupled to the supercapacitor estructure. ABSTRACT This research reports a supercapacitor (SC) made with a photosensitive electrode (composed of LaFe0.94V0.01Mn0.05O3 (V‐LFO ...

The synthesis of thermochemically stable single phase lanthanum titanium aluminium oxide [PDF]
Lanthanum titanium aluminium oxide (LaTi2Al9O19, LTA) synthesized by solid state reaction has been proven to be a promising thermal barrier material. However, LTA synthesized via solid state reaction requires a high processing temperature of at least ...

Nanostructuring Copper Tungstate Photoanodes: Performance Enhancement and Fundamental Limitations
Nanostructuring of CuWO4 photoanodes yields a ~ tenfold photocurrent enhancement compared to dense films, reaching 0.6 mA cm−2 at 1.23 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, among the best values reported for this material. Yet, performance remains far below the theoretical limit due to severe bulk recombination and poor electron transport ...
