A Structural Basis for Regulation of Actin Polymerization by Pectenotoxins [PDF]
(PTXs) are polyether macrolides found in certain dinoflagellates, sponges and shellfish, and have been associated with diarrhetic shellfish poisoning. In addition to their in vivo toxicity, some PTXs are potently cytotoxic in human cancer cell lines.

A THEORETICAL ESTIMATION OF EXPOSURE TO SHELLFISH TOXINS OF DIFFERENT POPULATION GROUPS IN BULGARIA
Introduction. Shellfish poisoning could be caused by ingestion of shellfish contaminated by bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, marine biotoxins etc. The objective of the study was to determine the theoretical human exposure to shellfish toxins

Novel synthetic routes towards trans-THFs and application towards the FG fragment of pectenotoxin-4 [PDF]
trans-2,5-Disubstituted tetrahydrofurans (THFs) are a common structural motif in a multitude of biologically active natural products. This thesis explores new synthetic routes for their synthesis and subsequent application towards the C31-40 fragment of ...

LC-MS/MS method for the detection of multiple classes of shellfish toxins
Marine shellfish toxins are seafood safety problems of global concern. Herein the analysis of six shellfish toxins, regulated by European Union, with one single run by LC-MS/MS with acidic mobile phase was developed.

Current situation on analysis of marine toxins
Marine toxins are a food safety concern worldwide. This review discusses current analytical methods for those toxins that are legally regulated in Europe, namely domoic acid, saxitoxin, okadaic acid, yessotoxin, pectenotoxin and azaspiracids, and all ...
