Advances in Eco‐Friendly Extraction of Fruit Bioactive Compounds: Technologies, Challenges and Future Directions

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
Fruit bioactive compounds offer antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and preventive benefits, yet extraction is hindered by poor solubility and conventional methods using toxic solvents and high energy. This review evaluates traditional and advanced eco‐friendly technologies, highlighting efficiency, selectivity, and sustainability.

Modulation of Ferroptosis Biomarkers by Thinned Apple Polyphenols Extract in Acute and Chronic Lung Injuries

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Thinned apple polyphenols (TAP) extract reduced ferroptosis in acute and chronic lung injuries. TAP activated Nrf2 and modulated key biomarkers (MDA, NOX4, GPX4, FTH1), leading to decreased inflammation and fibrosis. These findings suggest TAP as a potential therapeutic approach for lung injury through ferroptosis regulation. ABSTRACT Acute and chronic

Essas enzimas,

Assessing Moisture Content of Coolstored Blueberries During Water Loss Scenarios Using Hyperspectral Imaging

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science, Volume 54, Issue 2, June 2026.
Water loss is a key factor affecting the postharvest quality and shelf life of blueberries, and storage conditions (humidity and time) play an important role in regulating water retention capacity of stored berries. This study aims to explore the variation of moisture content (MC) in blueberries under different storage humidity and storage time ...

INDUCTION OF PECTINASES IN ACROCYLINDRIUM

open access: yesThe Journal of General and Applied Microbiology, 1974
Galacturonic acid, and oligo- and poly-galacturonic acids induced the synthesis of endopolygalacturonase, exopolygalacturonase, pectinesterase, and enzymes responsible for galacturonic acid metabolism in astrain of Acrocylindrium. These enzymes had similar characteristics for inducer specificity, time curves of induction, and catabolite repression.

Bioconversion of carotenoids into high‐value crocins using a marine sponge carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 3230-3246, June 2026.
Summary Carotenoids and apocarotenoids are widespread specialized metabolites, yet animals, including sponges, lack the ability to synthesize carotenoids de novo and must obtain them from dietary or microbial sources. The roles of carotenoid cleavage dioxygenases (CCDs) in marine animals remain largely unexplored. A CCD from the marine sponge Suberites

A Near Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genome of Belamcanda chinensis Provides Insights Into Genome Evolution and the Biosynthesis of Characteristic Isoflavones

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 6, Page 4285-4301, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Belamcanda chinensis is a non‐leguminous medicinal plant rich in bioactive isoflavones; however, the lack of a high‐quality reference genome has limited elucidation of its isoflavone biosynthetic and modification network. Here, we present the first near telomere‐to‐telomere genome assembly of B.
