Peel Adhesion: Rate Dependence of Micro Fracture Processes

The Journal of Adhesion, 1969
Abstract The micro-fracture mechanism of peeling is studied by means of a “bond stress analyses” which permits direct measurement of the distribution of normal or “cleavage” type stresses localized at the propagating boundary of failure. Improved instrumentation now permits direct stress analysis over nearly three decades of peeling rate.

Enzymatic Peeling of Potato: A Novel Processing Technology

Potato Research, 2015
Development of an innovative biotechnological method for potato peeling, closer to the ‘ideal’ peeling conditions of the product, was the main objective of the present research. Studies on enzymatic hydrolysis of potato peel were conducted. The efficacy of enzymatic peel hydrolysis was expressed in terms of reducing sugar content of the enzyme solution

Fruit Washing, Peeling, and Preparation for Processing

1986
Fruit processing is continuous from the time the fruit leaves the growing plant till it is protected securely from microorganisms or macroorganisms. Harvesting, sorting, handling, storing, washing, peeling, preparation, heating, refrigerating, dehydrating, concentrating, treating with chemicals, and packaging are steps in the chain of events.
