Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...

Experiences of university students and their professor with peer teaching: Feedback
Background: Reciprocal style or reciprocal peer teaching is based on peer-assisted learning and promotes learning with the help of peers and positive interdependence. Learners are paired and swap the roles of doer (i.e. tutee) and helper (i.e. tutor) to

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Wearing the consultant’s hat: Training faculty to perform quality peer reviews
The claim has been made for decades that college teaching, like research, should be peer reviewed if we are to see it as a serious scholarly activity; yet peer review as a method of evaluating teaching is not widespread.

Multimodal Engagement Assessment in Children During Invented Story Paradigm With a Social Robot
A multimodal framework is proposed to assess children's engagement during storytelling interactions with a social robot. Gaze, physiological, and behavioral data are combined and validated against observer ratings. An automated gaze‐labeling strategy is introduced, and supervised classifiers achieve high accuracy. The study supports scalable engagement

Trio-ethnographic Reflection on Using Digital Storytelling to Enhance Learners’ Engagement
The teaching and learning process in the digital landscape is evolving beyond traditional one-way knowledge delivery. Using trio-ethnography, a combination of duoethnography and photography (Le et al., 2021), we sought to explore how to integrate ...
