Twelve tips for peer teaching by a medical education student society [version 2; peer review: 1 approved, 2 approved with reservations, 1 not approved]

open access: yesMedEdPublish
University societies are student-led organisations which provide excellent opportunities for students to collaborate in a shared interest. Peer teaching is gaining recognition as an effective method of medical education.

Microscale 3D‐Printed Digital Strain Switches for Embedded Mechanical Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Microscale 3D‐printed strain switches on flexible films convert deformation into native digital signals at geometry defined thresholds. A closed form model predicts switching from 3000 to 15 000 microstrain and is validated across 110 devices. Reliable ohmic closure and strain activated AND, OR, and XOR logic point toward low‐power mechanical ...

Spatial Stiffness Programming in Single‐Filament Material Extrusion Through Data‐Driven Thermal Foaming

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Single‐filament material extrusion enables spatial stiffness programming through locally controlled thermal foaming of TPU. A data‐driven G‐code framework tunes porosity from 15.7% to 40.7% and hardness from 90 to 63 Shore A within and across layers. Monolithic hands and soft actuators consequently achieve distinct programmed motions without material ...

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Peer-led versus instructor-led structured debriefing in high-fidelity simulation: a mixed-methods study on teaching effectiveness

open access: yesBMC Medical Education
Background Debriefing is the essential element of simulation teaching. Peer-led structured debriefing simulations could be a suitable approach because of the peers’ similarity in age and experience to the students.
