A Sybilproof Indirect Reciprocity Mechanism for Peer-to-Peer Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Although direct reciprocity (Tit-for-Tat) contribution systems have been successful in reducing free-loading in peer-to-peer overlays, it has been shown that, unless the contribution network is dense, they tend to be slow (or may even fail) to converge ...

Design and manufacturing of a LIGHTBOARD - Combining the peer-to-peer idea with project based teaching

open access: yes9th International Conference on Higher Education Advances (HEAd'23), 2023
For lecturers in higher education it is a great challenge to involve students into critical thinking, carefully pondering solutions to mechanical engineering problems. Project based teaching gives the opportunity to gain both, higher learning outcome and self-reliant study skills.

Measuring the Hall Effect in Hysteretic Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The authors highlight common pitfalls in measuring the Hall effect: in hysteretic magnets, improper data processing can create signals that look exotic but are not real. This Perspective explains the origin of these artifacts and presents practical measurement strategies that help researchers identify reliable Hall responses in complex magnetic ...

Wearable Morphology‐Adaptive in‐Ear Device With Active Cleansing Capability for Multimodal Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present SCIENCE, an in‐ear multimodal physiological monitor featuring two key innovations. Water‐triggered morphological expansion (a 2‐mm cylinder to a 9‐mm spindle) achieves conformal adaptation across complex canal geometries. Simultaneously, active biofouling mitigation disrupts cerumen barriers, reducing sensor‐skin impedance by 20%.

Giant Anisotropic Spin Absorption in Chiral Hybrid Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Researchers uncover that chiral hybrid organic–inorganic semiconductors absorb spin differently depending on its polarization direction. This anisotropic spin absorption is primarily driven by the local symmetry breaking within the layered structure.
