Peer-to-Peer Accountability

Nursing Management (Springhouse), 1995
Peer-to-peer accountability is an essential component of empowerment-based management models. To foster this environment, skills such as conflict resolution, team building, communication and group dynamics need to be identified and supported. The lack of peer-to-peer accountability can seriously hinder the development of management models.

Peer-to-peer is not for everyone

IEEE Intelligent Systems, 2001
Software developers and specialized media are touting the peer-to-peer computing model (P2P) as the next big thing in Internet technology. I review and contrast it to the traditional Web-server model.

Peer-to-peer semantic coordination

Journal of Web Semantics, 2004
Semantic coordination, namely the problem of finding an agreement on the meaning of heterogeneous schemas, is one of the key issues in the development of the Semantic Web. In this paper, we propose a method for discovering semantic mappings across hierarchical classifications (HCs) based on a new approach, which shifts the problem of semantic ...

An analysis of peer-to-peer networks with altruistic peers

Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications, 2009
We develop a new model of the interaction of rational peers in a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network that has at its heart altruism, an intrinsic parameter reflecting peers’ inherent willingness to contribute. Two different approaches for modelling altruistic behavior and its attendant benefit are introduced. With either approach, we use Game Theoretic analysis

Peer-to-peer’s most wanted: Malicious peers

Computer Networks, 2006
In this paper, we propose a reputation management scheme for partially decentralized peer-to-peer systems. The reputation scheme helps to build trust among peers based on their past experiences and feedback from other peers. Two selection advisor algorithms are proposed for helping peers to select the most trustworthy peer to download from.

Peer-to-peer networks

Computing in Science & Engineering, 2001
Will peer-to-peer computing be the next killer Internet application? Like most over-hyped concepts, P2P is loosely defined and covers a set of rather disparate ideas. Perhaps the only common theme is a client-oriented view of the world; you might think of P2P as "Power to the People".

Peering at peer-to-peer computing

IEEE Internet Computing, 2001
How would you like to share files with another user without having to explicitly place them in a designated external location? The recent successes of (and controversies surrounding) Napster, Gnutella, and FreeNet have drawn attention to peer-to-peer computing, which allows precisely such interactions between information and service providers and their
