On the sequences of $(q,k)$-generalized Fibonacci numbers [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica
We consider a new family of recurrence sequences, the $(q,k)$-generalized Fibonacci numbers. These sequences naturally extend the well-known sequences of $k$-generalized Fibonacci numbers and generalized $k$-order Pell numbers.

On Matrix‐Based Cryptography Using Matrix Norm and Special Integer Sequences

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, a novel matrix‐based encryption approach based on the Affine Hill cipher is presented. The key matrix is constructed using the Narayana integer sequence, and the Frobenius norm of the key matrix is used as a scaling factor in the key construction.

Solution of an odds inversion problem [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
Consider the problem of determining the possible numbers of balls of two different colors in an urn such that if two are drawn out at random, the odds that they are different colors are a given value. We present a general solution of this problem for all

The Two Extremal Rays of Some Hyper–Kähler Fourfolds

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We consider projective Hyper–Kähler manifolds of dimension 4 that are deformation equivalent to Hilbert squares of K3 surfaces. In case such a manifold admits a divisorial contraction, the exceptional divisor is a conic bundle over a K3 surface. A classification of lattice embeddings implies that there are five types of such conic bundles.

A Methodological Pathway for Supporting the Transition From Theory to Practice in Action‐Oriented Research for Transformative Change

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over recent decades, action‐oriented research has gained prominence in co‐producing actionable knowledge to drive transformative change toward sustainability. However, further methodological developments are needed to support the transition to the application phase of such knowledge.

Pell Equation. I. Systematic classification of the solutions of the Pell equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Let the smallest non-trivial solution of Pell equation, x^2-Dy^2=1, be denoted by (x_1, y_1). The Pell equations for D were systematically classified into several types with respect to the form of the polynomial relations (PR's) among (D, x_1, y_1).

Integrating multimodal data and machine learning for entrepreneurship research

open access: yesStrategic Entrepreneurship Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Extant research in neuroscience suggests that human perception is multimodal in nature—we model the world integrating diverse data sources such as sound, images, taste, and smell. Working in a dynamic environment, entrepreneurs are expected to draw on multimodal inputs in their decision making.

POLYNOMIAL PELL\u27S EQUATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010

On the matrix negative Pell equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Let N be a set of natural numbers and Z be a set of integers. Let M₂(Z) denotes the set of all 2x2 matrices with integer entries. We give necessary and suficient conditions for solvability of the matrix negative Pell equation (P) X² - dY² = -I with d ∈ N
