Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Evaluation of Mechanical Parameters of Pellets

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2016
The paper dealt with the evaluation of mechanical properties of the cylinder wheat straw, rapeseed straw and 50/50 % mixed wheat and rapeseed straw pellet samples. The pellets were made by the granulating machine MGL 200 (Kovonovak).

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Fecal Pellet Production by Macoma balthica and Pellet Transport in Cobequid Bay, Nova Scotia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Large high density populations, up to 3,000/m^2 of the bivalve Macoma balthica inhabit the muddy intertidal areas in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia. The fecal pellets produced by Macoma b. are resistant to breakdown.
