Import Penetration, Intermediate Inputs and Productivity: Evidence from Italian Firms [PDF]
We test the impact of import penetration on the productivity of a sample of roughly 35,000 Italian manufacturing firms operating in the period 1996-2003, considering the impact on productivity of both import penetration in the same industry and import ...

PENETRATING WOUNDS: PENETRATING ABDOMINAL TRAUMA AND PENETRATING EXTREMITY WOUNDS
Introduction: This article provides a review of penetrating injuries to the extremities and abdomen. Extremity injuries require early attention to avoid limb loss, with factors such as soft tissue, nerve and bone damage determining the feasibility of saving the limb. In abdominal trauma, the most common causes are stab wounds and gunshot wounds, mainly

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Overview of increasing the penetration of renewable energy sources in the distribution grid by developing control strategies and using ancillary services [PDF]
Increasing the renewables energy resources in the distribution network is one of the main challenges of the distributed system operator due to instability, power quality and feeder capacity problems. This paper proposes a solution for further penetration

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
