A Comparative Study of Blood Concentrations after Peroral Benzathine (DBED) Penicillin V and Potassium Penicillin V

Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1971
AbstractThe serum concentration of benzathine (DBED) penicillin V after oral administration in tablet form was studied. The preparation gave therapeutically adequate high and longstanding concentrations. Potassium penicillin V in the same doses to the same patients gave 3–4 times higher concentrations than DBED penicillin V.

Stability of penicillin V potassium in unit dose oral syringes

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1979
The stability of reconstituted penicillin V potassium (PVK) when stored in 6-ml plastic oral syringes at various temperatures and protected from light was studied. One batch of PVK was reconstituted with distilled water according to manufacturer's directions (label claim: 125 mg/ml). Samples of 5 ml were stored in plastic oral syringes at 4 C, 25 C, 41

Electrical Conductances of Dilute Aqueous Solutions of Sodium Penicillin G, Potassium Penicillin G, and Potassium Penicillin V in the 278.15−313.15 K Temperature Range

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007
Systematic determinations of electrical conductivities of sodium penicillin G, potassium penicillin G, and potassium penicillin V in the 278.15-313.15 K temperature range are reported. These conductivities are examined by applying the Quint-Viallard conductivity equations and the Debye-Hückel equations for activity coefficients. Determined dissociation

Fractal characteristics of biochars derived from Penicillin v potassium residue pyrolysis

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 2019
Abstract Biochar is widely used as adsorbent and catalyst carrier. Penicillin V Potassium residue (PVPR) as a hazardous waste with high organic content has the great potential to produce biochar. The adsorption performance and loading capacity of biochar largely depend on the pore structure, surface area and other physical properties.

Penicillin V Potassium

1982
Penicillin V, the phenoxymethyl analogue of penicillin G, is a semisynthetic penicillin for oral use; discussed here is the potassium salt of penicillin V (often called Penicillin VK). This drug is more stable in acid than is penicillin G and, thus, it is better absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Its actions are the same as those of penicillin G

ERYTHROMYCIN PROPIONATE AND POTASSIUM PENICILLIN V IN THE TREATMENT OF GROUP A STREPTOCOCCAL PHARYNGITIS

Pediatrics, 1963
The relative effectiveness of erythromycin propionate and K penicillin V in two dosage schedules was evaluated in the treatment of 261 cases of acute pharyngitis from which Group A hemolytic streptococci were recovered from December, 1958, to June, 1959.

Serum Levels of Potassium Penicillin V following Oral Administration to Febrile and Afebrile Children

Pediatrics, 1963
A single dose of 200-400,000 units of oral potassium penicillin V is absorbed rapidly in fasting febrile children and infants to produce high serum levels. These levels are similar to those of afebrile children in the same age groups. From this standpoint, therapy of acutely ill febrile children with oral potassium penicillin V in reliable when ...

Stability of several brands of ampicillin and penicillin V potassium oral liquids following reconstitution

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1976
The stability-time profiles of the active ingredient of five generically equivalent brands of penicillin V potassium for oral solution, and of five generically equivalent brands of ampicillin for oral suspension, were studied. Three controlled conditions were employed-refrigerated, room and elevated temperature-and all the samples were assayed ...

Preparation method of penicillin V potassium β-cyclodextrin inclusion.

Pakistan journal of pharmaceutical sciences, 2019
In order to conceal the unpleasant smell of pharmaceutical raw materials of Penicillin V potassium, we use β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) as a drug carrier. The Penicillin V potassium β-CD inclusion complex was prepared by saturated aqueous solution method; the characterization of penicillin V potassium β-CD inclusion complex is determined by scanning electron ...

[Penicillin V potassium in tonsillar tissue and serum (author's transl)].

MMW, Munchener medizinische Wochenschrift, 1975
1.2 mega U Penicillin V potassium was given to 20 patients 2 hours (group 1) and another 19 patients 3 hours (group 2) before tonsillectomy. After the operation biological determinations of the levels of active principle were made from tonsillar tissue and serum with statistical evaluation of the results (Spearman's rank correlation).
