SSRN Electronic Journal, 2006 This article concentrates on the possible relationship between trade and pension systems. I consider trade between a capital-abundant home and a labor-abundant foreign country. The underlying model is a two-period overlapping generations-model augmented with factor-price changes resulting from price-variations through globalization.

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013 We explore voluntary participation in pension arrangements. Individuals only participate when participation is more attractive than autarky. The benefit of participation is that risks can be shared with future generations. We apply our analysis to a pay-as-you-go system, a funded system without buffers and a funded system with buffers.

Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Using the agent‐based model SWISSland, we simulate farm‐level responses and interactions under two institutional shocks: tariff reductions and direct payment reductions. Using a framework we developed, we assess resilience capacities, resilience attributes, and the provision of private and public goods, following the shock.
