Pentobarbital-induced place aversion learning [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Pentobarbital is self-administered by rats, but has also been reported to produce a conditioned place aversion. Since the self-administration and place preference paradigms both are considered to assess drug reward, we further examined the hedonic ...

Renal function and histology after acute hemorrhage in rats under dexmedetomidine action Função e histologia renais após hemorragia aguda em ratos sob ação da dexmedetomidina

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2007
PURPOSE: About 50 % of indications for dialysis in acute renal failure are related to problems originated during the perioperative period. Intraoperative hemodynamic changes lead to renal vasoconstriction and hypoperfusion.

A single psychotomimetic dose of ketamine decreases thalamocortical spindles and delta oscillations in the sedated rat [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Background: In patients with psychotic disorders, sleep spindles are reduced, supporting the hypothesis that the thalamus and glutamate receptors play a crucial etio-pathophysiological role, whose underlying mechanisms remain unknown. We hypothesized that a reduced function of NMDA receptors is involved in the spindle deficit observed in schizophrenia.

Combined Systemic Immunotherapy and Intrathecal Dexamethasone in Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES) is a rare presentation of refractory status epilepticus with immune dysregulation as a potential pathologic mechanism. Despite promising results from second‐line immunomodulators, approximately 30% remain refractory to treatment.

Selective blockade of the discriminative stimulus effects of pentobarbital in pigeons [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
The ability of CNS stimulants to block the discriminative effects of pentobarbital was studied in pigeons trained to discriminate IM pentobarbital (5 mg/kg) from saline.

Novel Biologically Active Glass Fiber Functionalized Using Magnesium Phosphate Cement Promotes Bone and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In this study, a new type of bioactive glass fiber ‐based composite magnesium phosphate bone cement is prepared and verified that its mechanical strength and biological properties. In addition, the cement may have played a biologically active role in the Notch and HIF signaling pathways.

Comparative study on the localization of adult Schistosoma mansoni worms in albino mice anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium, ether or chlorophorm Estudo comparativo sobre a localização de vermes adultos de Schistosoma mansoni em camundongos albinos anestesiados com pentobarbital sódico, éter ou clorofórmio

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1993
The effect of anesthetic drugs on the localization of adult worms in albino mice was compared. The animals with 56 days of infection were anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium, ether or chlorophorm.

Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.
