A Biomimetic Norepinephrine‐Loaded Aligned Mineralized Collagen Scaffold for Coordinated Neurovascular, Osteogenic, and Immunomodulatory Repair of Critical‐Sized Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the composition and structure of native bone tissue and its complex interplay of biological signals, a norepinephrine‐loaded biomimetic mineralized electrocompacted collagen scaffold (NE‐MEC) is developed capable of simultaneously supporting osteogenesis, neural repair, angiogenesis, and immune modulation.

Biocompatibility of a lab-on-a-pill sensor in artificial gastrointestinal environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
n this paper, we present a radiotelemetry sensor, designed as a lab-in-a-pill, which incorporates a two-channel microfabricated sensor platform for real-time measurements of temperature and pH.

Reticular Chemistry: A Versatile Platform for Engineering Heterogenous Biocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rational design of reticular‐based heterogeneous biocatalysts enables significant enhancement in enzyme activity recovery and even achieves catalytic performance beyond native enzymes. Abstract Reticular materials, including metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), have emerged ...

GastroNet: A robust attention‐based deep learning and cosine similarity feature selection framework for gastrointestinal disease classification from endoscopic images

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Diseases of the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract significantly affect the quality of human life and have a high fatality rate. Accurate diagnosis of GI diseases plays a pivotal role in healthcare systems. However, processing large amounts of medical image data can be challenging for radiologists and other medical professionals, increasing the risk ...

Intratumoral Fusobacterium nucleatum Drives Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Enrichment and Immune Exclusion in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Fusobacterium nucleatum contributes to the progression of ESCC by inducing NF‐κB–mediated inflammatory signaling in tumor cells and promoting CAFs activation. Its presence may facilitate immune exclusion and tumor invasion through stromal remodeling. Furthermore, F.

Digestive aspartic proteases from sábalo (Prochilodus lineatus): Characterization and application for collagen extraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Acid proteases from sábalo stomach mucosa were recovered using salting-out procedure. This single step produced an enzyme extract purified 1.8-fold over the crude extract with a recovery of 45.1% of its initial proteolytic activity.

Radium Speciation in Simulated Digestive Biofluids: Insights from Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry and Thermodynamic Modeling

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) combined with thermodynamic modeling provides the first direct characterization of radium speciation in synthetic gastrointestinal biofluids. Free Ra2+ ions predominate with minimal protein binding and negligible EDTA complexation. Crown ethers enable effective Ra complexation.

The reflux symptom score has good screening value for laryngopharyngeal reflux

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology
Objective To investigate the consistency between the reflux symptom score (RSS) and the multitemporal salivary pepsin test in screening for laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and the screening value of the RSS for LPR by simultaneously administering daytime ...

The role of gastroesophageal reflux disease in the middle ear pathology formation [PDF]

open access: yesНаука и инновации в медицине
The study of the extraesophageal reflux effect on the middle ear structures in adults is of considerable interest. The mechanism of formation of gastroesophageal reflux disease associated otitis media is closely related to such concepts as nasopharyngeal
