Self-Assembly and Hydrogelation of an Amyloid Peptide Fragment
The self-assembly of a fragment of the amyloid beta peptide that has been shown to be critical in amyloid fibrillization has been studied in aqueous solution. There are conflicting reports in the literature on the fibrillization of Abeta (16-20), i.e., KLVFF, and our results shed light on this.

pH-Responsive Peptide Supramolecular Hydrogels with Antibacterial Activity
Smart hydrogels have received increasing attention for many applications. Here, we synthesized a class of cationic peptide amphiphiles that can self-assemble into hydrogels by ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and post-modification strategy.

3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...

We introduce a novel method combining microfluidics, optogenetics, and human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to encapsulate single iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes (iPSC‐CMs) in an optimal environment for functional characterization. This method enables direct genotype‐phenotype correlation for genetic studies and high‐throughput screening ...

Hydro‐ and Lipophilicity of Molecular‐Size‐Controlled Hydrogel Drug Carriers
We investigate nano‐sized hydrogel drug carriers with tailored hydro‐ and lipophilicity. We design their encapsulation and structure‐forming capabilities and follow them in real time during fabrication using time‐resolved and in situ grazing incidence x‐ray scattering.

PVP-based hydrogels: Synthesis, properties and applications
Hydrogels are three dimensionally crosslinked polymeric network which can retain a huge amount of water but do not dissolve in water. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a synthetic polymer with good biocompatibility and transparency and with the action of ...

Supramolecular Peptide/Polymer Hybrid Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications.
Peptides and polymers are the "elite" building blocks in hydrogel fabrication where the typical approach consists of coupling specific peptide sequences (cell adhesive and/or enzymatically cleavable) to polymer chains aiming to obtain controlled cell ...
