Development of Antibacterial Cotton‐Black Viscose and Cotton‐Polyester Blended‐Knit Fabric Using Ag Doped ZnO Nanocomposite

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 1, 7 January 2026.
This research unveils a novel approach by bridging material science with textile innovation to create intelligent antimicrobial fabrics by engineering silver‐doped zinc oxide nanocomposites onto cotton–viscose and cotton–polyester blended knits. The work transcends conventional textile innovation through a comprehensive evaluation of structural ...

Amino Acid Directed Helical Assemblies of Natural Berberine for Chirality‐Dependent Photodynamic Antibacterial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
Helical nanostructures co‐assembled from berberine (BBR) and Fmoc‐Y display supramolecular‐chirality‐dependent photodynamic antibacterial activity. The molecular chirality of Fmoc‐Y organizes achiral BBR into chiral nanofibers, where supramolecular handedness controls bacterial surface adsorption, membrane penetration, intracellular BBR delivery, and ...

Insect I‐Type Lysozymes Function as Antiviral Proteases by Forming Biomolecular Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, 5 January 2026.
Upon rice viral infection, the insect vector activates the Toll–MyD88–Dorsal signaling cascade, inducing i‐type lysozyme (Lyz‐I1) expression. Lyz‐I1 functions as an antiviral protease through its conserved catalytic dyad Glu/Asp (E/D), mediating cleavage of viral proteins at specific Lys (K) residues.
